Afghanistan Official Traveller Permit Letter

The Afghanistan Official Traveller Permit Letter is required for entry into each province. Without this document, entry may be refused. The permit is issued by the Tourism Office, lists all provinces you plan to visit, and requires a government fee of 1,000 AFN per province.
Government offices operate Saturday to Wednesday, half-day on Thursday, and are closed on Friday.

Mandatory Guide Requirement (Effective September 2025)
Under regulations introduced in September 2025, issuance of the Official Traveller Permit Letter requires a licensed local guide to be assigned for the entire journey.
